Google Antigravity Now Included in Gemini Enterprise: What It Means for Teams in Thailand and Singapore

On 21 August 2026, Google Cloud made Google Antigravity, its agentic coding platform, available inside eligible Gemini Enterprise Standard, Plus and Standard Emerging Market subscriptions. It arrives with admin spend controls, pooled token quotas, central audit logging and new IDE extensions for VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains and Zed. For businesses in Thailand and Singapore already paying for Gemini Enterprise, this is a developer productivity tool you may already own and have not switched on yet.
What is Google Antigravity?
Google Antigravity is Google's agentic development platform. Rather than autocompleting single lines of code, it runs AI agents that can plan, write, test and iterate on software tasks end to end. It is powered by Gemini models from Google DeepMind and is available as a desktop app (Antigravity 2.0), a command line interface (Antigravity CLI) and, as of August 2026, as extensions inside the IDEs developers already use.
Google first announced Antigravity as part of the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform at I/O in May 2026. The August update is the enterprise rollout: it moves Antigravity from a standalone developer tool into a governed, centrally billed component of Gemini Enterprise.
What changed on 21 August 2026
1. Antigravity is bundled into Gemini Enterprise
Eligible Gemini Enterprise Standard, Plus and Standard Emerging Market licences now include AI developer tools. An administrator enables Antigravity and Gemini in Android Studio for licensed users from the admin console. No separate add-on licence, invoice or billing console.
For Thailand, the Standard Emerging Market licence is the relevant detail. It is the tier most Thai organisations are eligible for, and it is in scope from day one.
2. Spend is pooled and capped
- Spend thresholds: monthly project level budget caps in the Billing console, with per user and per team caps due later in 2026.
- Pooled quotas: purchased tokens are shared across the organisation, so a quiet team's allocation is not wasted.
- Overage enablement: opt in to overages at standard consumption rates, under a monthly cap.
- Usage metrics: central tracking of token consumption, API calls and developer activity.
The pooled model removes the classic problem of prepaying for seats that individual users never fully consume.
3. Security and audit are on by default
- Configurable security policies: workspace sandboxing plus browser and MCP server access controls.
- Central audit logging: one toggle captures prompts, agent responses and metadata for compliance reporting.
- Data privacy: agent activity stays inside your cloud boundary under Google Cloud's Terms of Service.
For regulated sectors in Singapore (MAS TRM, PDPA) and Thailand (PDPA, BOT guidelines), this is the difference between a tool IT can approve and one that stays blocked.
4. Developers keep their own tools
New IDE extensions bring Antigravity into Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio (preview), JetBrains (preview) and Zed (preview), alongside the Antigravity 2.0 desktop app and the CLI.
Identity runs through Workforce Identity Federation and Application Default Credentials, so developers sign in with corporate identity and admins enforce it without extra setup.
Why this matters
The buying decision has changed
Until now, most companies evaluated AI coding agents as a separate procurement: a new vendor, a new security review, a new line item. Google has collapsed that into an existing subscription. If your organisation already runs Gemini Enterprise for Workspace users, the question is no longer "should we buy an AI coding tool" but "should we enable the one we already have."
That reframing is also why GitHub Copilot and standalone tools like Cursor and Claude Code now face a different competitive question in Google Workspace shops. Governance was the real blocker
In our conversations with IT leaders across Bangkok and Singapore, the objection to agentic coding tools has rarely been capability. It has been control: where does the code go, who sees the prompts, what happens when an agent reaches into a browser or an internal API, and how do we stop a runaway bill. Google's answer addresses each of those directly, from the same admin console the Workspace team already uses.
The enterprise customers named are regional
Google quoted AirAsia Next, Accenture, CGI, Cognizant, Datamatics, Deloitte and Wipro. AirAsia's CTO described rolling Antigravity 2.0 out beyond engineering to finance, marketing, legal and HR. That is a Southeast Asian enterprise treating agentic tooling as a workforce capability, not a developer perk. Regional SIs like CGI and Cognizant positioning it inside their delivery centres signals where outsourced software delivery in APAC is heading.
Who should act on this, and how
If you already have Gemini Enterprise Standard, Plus or Standard Emerging Market: your admin can enable AI developer tools today. Start with a pilot group, set a monthly project spend cap, and turn on audit logging before the first developer signs in.
If you are on Gemini Business or Workspace with Gemini add-ons: Antigravity is not included at those tiers. The upgrade path to Gemini Enterprise is worth modelling if you have more than a handful of developers, because the bundled developer tools change the per seat value. If you are a Microsoft 365 shop: this does not change your Copilot roadmap, but it does raise the bar for what "included in the subscription" means. If your developers are already asking for Cursor or Claude Code licences, compare the governed options on both platforms before signing a third contract.
